History and civilization
The original village of Tignes was in the Isère valley below Val d’Isère. After the loss of the old village it was decided to develop a ski resort at the higher lake (Le Lac).
Restaurants and nightlife
Tignes is not renowned for its après, but the situation is improving and there are more and more bars and restaurants in all its regions, open both in summer and winter.
